Steve Shay Photography

A photojournalist for over 20 years, Steve Shay continues his family's legacy.  Raised in the darkroom assisting his father, well-known Life Magazine, Time Magazine, and Sports Illustrated photographer, Art Shay Steve has photography in his blood.  His father even utilized him and his sibs to model print ads, and as guinea pigs for experimenting with the latest flash equipment.  Recalls Steve of his youth in suburban Chicago, "My big sister jokes that whenever there was a lightning storm in the middle of the night, we'd all pop out of bed and say cheese!" Instilled since childhood with a discipline in light, composition, and journalism, Steve has developed a personal artistic style.   He credits his professional success in both photography and writing with his ability to connect with children, teens, seniors, and even pets.
